Inglewood, California. –Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Khalil Mack Sunday’s 24-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders was a record-breaking revenge game.
Mack, facing the team that drafted him in 2014, registered six sacks, a franchise single-game record, two of which resulted in fumbles. Mack’s six sacks were the most by a player against his former team since player sacks became an official status in 1982.
While few would have predicted six sacks, the dominant performance against the Raiders has become Mack’s norm. He has 14 sacks since he joined the Chargers, and nine of those have come against the Raiders.
Mack gave some thought to the Chargers’ pass rush before Sunday. According to TruMedia, he entered the game with zero sacks and a 6.9% pass rush win rate, 111th in the NFL.
On the other side of the ball, Justin Herbert He completed 13-of-24 passes for 167 yards and a score, as the Chargers continued to improve to .500.
