The Italian champions are second on seven points, four ahead of third-placed Braga. Union Berlin are a point below after a 1-1 draw against Napoli on Wednesday.

Vazquez went hard in the 20th minute for a challenge on winger Bruma inside the box that could have earned Madrid another penalty and a second yellow card if the referee decided it was a foul, as Braga’s players widely complained.
However, he was sent off and Real then took control of the game. Diaz, who had an earlier goal disallowed for a foul in the build-up, opened the scoring with a first-time strike from close range in the 27th minute, assisted by Rodrigo.
Diaz could have extended their lead on 55 minutes, but goalkeeper Matthews made two reflex saves in quick succession to deny the Spanish midfielder a double-effort from close-range.
Matthews also stopped a Rodrigo strike from the edge of the box to help Braga stay in the game, but Vinicius doubled the lead in the 58th minute when he collected a low cross from Vazquez and produced a neat finish from inside the box.
Three minutes later, Vinicius launched a counter-attack and played in his compatriot Rodrigo, who sealed the result with a superb chip past the goalkeeper.
